Stryn begins his journey towards kingship by seeking the counsel of a prophetic spirit, who gives him concerning advice. Meanwhile, those who must live affected by his leadership (or lack thereof) move through the world in their own ways, some stumbling in and out of conflict while others rush headlong into it.
Until Then follows multiple narrators and is told through vignettes rather than traditional chapters, though the events are still connected and presented in order. It contains, at times, heavier material than is shown 'onscreen' in Rain Summoner.
